i got so much done

today i had plans to do a bit of work and perfect my budget so that i could feel good about getting paid tomorrow. the Senator and i have really been trying to get our finances together. we want to buy our first home at the end of the year which means we've got to exercise some discipline. we're good on paper, well excellent in fact. the problem has been on my part of not following through with having a plan for the entire year and the Senator's well... he always does his own thing. so to avoid disaster, i've planned the budget all the way out until December 2010. it was an exhausting process but i'm so excited to have seen the results unfold on paper. I'm so excited to go back and sit with our NACA rep. I used Dave Ramsey's tips. the Senator and I are attending his Financial Peace University on Sunday nights for the next 13 weeks or so and it's been such a blessing to us. prior to taking this class together, I took a financial stewardship class at my church that helped get some things on track for us. excellent book... check it out HERE

in other related news: i've decided that I'm going to attend the 9th Annual Live VA Summit in Phoenix, AZ. I'm determined to grow my VA business (gotta get the home) so now is a good a time as any to get on my grind... ya know, i was crusing through other blogs earlier today and checking out the stories of the other couples... i thought to myself, why am i not doing what I know i can do? that's when i decided to just get to it. the fact of the matter is... budgets are fun, but their necessary.... working isn't always pleasant (business owner or not) but it's necessary... i guess i was just having trouble accepting the fact that I've got to grow up... NOW and not later... besides how can i ever get the opportunity to try out all my cool decor ideas when i still live with O? No worries, I'm doing better

More unrelated news: my back is so sore from shoveling snow and i hear there will be another 10"-12" tomorrow... the Senator and I are getting up early to hit the grocery store, then off to my small group bible study at 10:30... I'm going to try and get him to come along, but i won't hold my breathe. although, he has been in the house for four days, so he might bite if i package it right. he's not against God or anything, he's just a guy ... whatever that means right now...

anyway, i'm shutting it down, right after i put together my shopping list for tomorrow. I suspect the stores will be all crowded and what not... so we've got to get out early to run our errands. right now, it's the grocer, bank, small group session. oh shoot! i just remembered I"ve got reading to do...
