The first step is admitting...

Today while reading Financial Peace revisited by Dave Ramsey we talked about the infamous "Dumping Debt". The Senator and I have, well had five credit cards between us, over $17k in debt and another $5k in an unsecured loan plus our student loans that equal idk right now but I'll get back to you on that. We've cut up cards before and ordered new one and ended up back in debt.

So this time... we said goodbye for good....
If you're normal you're thinking "hotel reservations, airfare, blah blah
blah" well, anywhere Visa is excepted so shall our Visa debt cards be also...accepted. Don't give me the blues, I've done it before.
I knew I had a problem because when I read the paragraph about cutting them up I got this sick feeling in my stomach and felt light-headed. It was then that I knew I had to get rid of them. I knew that being serious about getting our finances in order and staying that way meant not giving us temptation. This also forces us to either sink or swim. I mean we have bad communication issues, which often leave us sabotaging E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G because of last minute plans. Well no more, not us. Get this---- I don't care if I'm the hated DIL for that. At this point my marriage depends on it and enough is enough. In addition, the Senator and I are signing a personal contract that will hold us accountable to our commitments to one another.

We've agreed on the following to be at the top our list for
"tasksneedingtobecompletedimmediately"
1- $1000 to begin emergency fund & continue into 3-6 er plan
2- continue debt snowball
3- find a place to live
#3 is of most importance we have given up the privacy aspect of our relationship and it has caused serious issues. Okay, that can go into an entirely different direction.

N-T-way, I'm still working on the detailed budget, I'm a bit of a retard when it comes to crazy numbers so it will take me some time.

Its a lie! Thou doth needeth 1 clear credit card and the discipline to reserve it for CAR RENTALS, hotel stays, etc. That is my FINAL ANSWER and I'm sticking to it... Cash is remiss and Debit doesn't hold weight!

Kelta! Activate!
