CLAUSE-trophobic

For the next 6 or 7 hours I will be on my way to the North Pole. Yes. The actual North Pole. How? I'm driving. Why? Because I don't believe the place is real & mom has assured me that it does in fact exist. My secret? I'm extremely excited. Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. I don't favor surprise too much, but I love the pretty paper and bows, and liquor and stuff. I'm currently located in Anchorage, AK. Here is a map of where we are going. Mom has friends there that are preparing breakfast for us. I've been preparing myself to drive the entire trip since a) mom is still recovering from surgery and probably won't feel like much b) my aunt won't do it. She avoids driving like the plague. Right now as I'm typing this to you, Mom is talking to me loudly from the other room and it's setting in that I'll be in close quarters with her for the next 6.5 hours and I'm painfully reminded of how much I HATE road trips. ICK!!! Good thing, I'm so darn excited about meeting Santa (well Santa's family).

In other news: Today begins week two for my Couch-to-5k. Week one was okay. Despite the massive itching all over my body, I'll say that I am proud of myself. I can tell a difference in my stamina. My breathing isn't so shallow and my endurance is building rather rapidly. Plus! Yesterday I got dressed for the last part of the seminar I taught while I was up here, and I noticed that I only look bloated and not 3-4 months pregnant. That's got to count for something, right!?
