the Senator was scheduled to leave today for the next four days to attend the Simply Youth Ministry Conference in Chicago, IL. Well with the major wind storm in effect his flight go canceled until 4:00a tomorrow morning. I was happy, this is the first time we haven't fought in weeks and I was kind of sad to see him go. At least I get a few more hours with him. He excited and I am too, especially because he's been seeking God for his purpose for quiet some time now and youth ministry is where we both believe God is calling him.

While in prayer tonight, a little girl joined our group. She had the prettiest nails and I thought to myself (while agreeing in prayer) "why are my hands all jacked up and this little girl's isnt?! what am I doing?" So I came home and did a quick manicure.
GARLIC~
Garlic is one of the world's oldest cultivated crops. It was fed to the builders of the Great Pyramid of Cheops in the Egypt in the belief that it gave them strength. "Garlics, though used by the French are better adapted to the uses of medicine than cookery"~Amelia Simmons
(American Cookery, 1796). It sounds from the as though Ms. Simmons was a alliumphobe-the term for a garlic-hater.
Garlic may repel vampires but it attracts leeches. Experiments show leeches take 14.9 seconds to attach themselves to a hand covered with garlic, bu 44.9 seconds to suck blood from a clean one. In view of this, it may be wise to know that a recommended way to get the smell of garlic out of your hands is to rub them with salt and lemon juice and rinse; to banish garlic breath, chew on fresh parsley or a coffee bean.
The average American eats over 3 ibs. of garlic a year and the habit is clearly an old one. The city of Chicago (where the Senator is going tomorrow) is named after garlic: "chicagaoua" was the Indian word for garlic.
~The word "garlic" occurs twenty-one time in Bram Stoker's Dracula, and only four time in the entire works of Shakespeare.
~The longest continuous string of garlic contained 1,600 garlic bulbs and was 36.5 m long.
