These plates have been in the Senator's family for over 30 years. O tells the story like this: She and grandpa O were in Germany at a friends home. O saw the plates and fell in love with them. As a surprise grandpa O had the plates delivered to their home in the states, but unfortunately was unable to see it's results. He died just before they arrived. Every year since I've known this family and even before then they've had Turkey Day at O's home and have used these plates and cutlery. How amazing is that?!
