i'm going on a date

so i get this call from this guy i met last week in a coffee shop... (i'm no hoe, the senator and i play this game sometimes). anyway, he calls me and here goes the convo:

riiiiing!!!
me: hello, this is the politician's wife
guy: hi, this is the guy you met in the coffee shop last week, remember me?
me: yea, i do! how are you?
guy: good. i know it's been a week, but i wanted to call and ask to take you out this friday
me: sounds good to me
guy: my plan is a movie & maybe some McDonald's
me: aaaaahahaah, kidding right?!
guy: yes,... how about Burger King?
me: i don't eat fast food (true statement)
guy: me either, well notsomuch
me: good. (awkward silence)
guy: so... then it's a date?!
me: yup, it's date
guy: good, i'll see you friday & i love you
me: you love me already, you just met me?!
guy: well i love you with the love of Christ. I'm a christian
me: good, love you with the love of Christ as well (thinking "if this were real, i'd be weirded out right now!)

follow-up:
the senator calls me as the senator to talk to me about out plans for the Inauguration. i'm all for making it a cozy night, with hors d' oeuvres and peppermint or cinnamon martini's. then he says to me:

t.s.: i've got plans friday, probably gonna hang out with the boys
me: okay, that's cool (stumbling because i don't lie well and i don't want to tell him i've got a date and blow the entire thing)
me: where you going, what time?
t.s.: don't know, but probably around 8 or 9
me: oh
t.s.: you have plans?
me: uhhhh... nope, probably gonna go and find a bookstore. you know we've got that office party today and i'll probably get a gift card
t.s.: okay sounds good... hahahaha bye
me: later
