why "the politician's wife"

i gotten a question as to why i am "the politician's wife". i knew i would, so i was prepared to do this:

boy (the senator), is a political head case! just after this past election, he expressed his desire to feed is need for change and began immersing himself in everything politics. this is cool with me. since his emancipation, i made the the decision to call him what he ultimately shall be... the senator.
